Meet Van Dalen
Since Niels van Dalen took over a company in 2022, Van Dalen Interiors has grown rapidly. The team is made up of skilled professionals, all with backgrounds in wood and furniture craftsmanship. Together, they deliver high-quality, custom interiors with an eye for detail and a passion for the craft.
They started working with Cutr in April 2024. Less than a year later, they’ve already completed 20 projects together. Van Dalen now actively keeps space in their planning for new Cutr jobs: a sign of mutual trust and a smooth collaboration.
Rianne, Niels’ right hand, first came across Cutr when she was approached for a job. She checked out the website but didn’t fully understand what Cutr did at the time. Later, she saw the platform again on LinkedIn. At that point, Van Dalen had some flexibility in their schedule and was looking for a reliable way to bring in extra projects. She created an account and within two days, they landed their first job.
The experience with Cutr
Working through a platform without direct contact with the end customer took some getting used to. Normally, Van Dalen Interiors has direct insight into what the client wants. With Cutr, communication flows differently, which initially required adjustments in how they managed and documented their projects.
"Standardising was challenging at first, especially without knowing the end client," Rianne says. "But over time, we worked closely with Cutr to refine that." With feedback from Cutr’s production partners, this has resulted into Cutr Standards, to ensure the same quality with every job on the platform.
The platform has become second nature for Van Dalen and many processes are now streamlined. The partnership continues to strengthen with every new project.

Making it happen
One of the things Van Dalen appreciates most about working with Cutr is the variety. Collaborating with different architects and designers brings fresh ideas and unique challenges. Think stainless steel countertops, handcrafted rounded corners, or a custom-milled surface they couldn't outsource but managed to produce perfectly in-house.
These projects push them out of their comfort zone in the best way. "We enjoy being challenged," says Rianne. As a young, eager, and flexible company, Van Dalen thrives on projects that test their skills and creativity.

The future
When asked to rate their collaboration with Cutr from 1 to 5, Niels answers without hesitation: “A solid 5.”
Working with Cutr is now fully embedded into Van Dalen’s process. They deliberately keep time free in their schedule for Cutr assignments. “We want to hit goals together: we see this as a long-term relationship,” says Niels. That mutual commitment and trust is the foundation of their strong partnership.
