Standards

Any deviations requested from Cutr Standards during quoting will be explicitly called out in the quote or offer and priced for accordingly. If no request is made, Cutr will default to the following:

Lead time

  • Cutr assumes that the requested delivery date shared by the customer is indicative, and will aim to provide delivery within the week of delivery date shared.
  • Cutr charges rush fees for delivery dates that fall within the following lead times from quote acceptance:
    • 2 weeks for orders with sawing only (cutlists)
    • 4 weeks for orders with CNC'd parts that don't require assembly
    • 6 weeks for orders that require assembly
    • 8 weeks for orders that require on-site installation

Design

  • Cutr will use available designs to provide pricing for a job. Adjustments made through the production process may incur additional costs.
  • Cutr will make assumptions to create a quote in cases where information is not provided. Any key assumptions used for pricing are listed in the quote/offer (e.g., dimensions, quantities, site conditions, finishes, responsibilities).
  • Cutr does not warrant that the designs submitted meet any specific manufacturing standards or intended purposes. Where engineering services are requested, the manufacturer will be responsible for providing drawings for approval prior to production.
  • Final pricing is confirmed after verified measurements/measure-up. If measurements differ materially from assumed inputs and affect scope, quantities, materials, hardware, or installation effort, the price will be adjusted accordingly (up or down).

Construction Approach

  • Where there are sharp inner corners, Cutr will assume a 6mm radius is allowable.
  • Where a corpus is shown without the cabinetry interior, Cutr assumes one shelf is required at 350mm intervals.
  • Cutr will specify the number of hinges needed for doors unless specifically requested by the customer.
  • Cutr will assume base plinths of 100mm height to be used for cabinets.
  • For built in cabinets, Cutr will assume no vertical side plinths are needed unless evident in the drawing / request.
  • For wall mounted cabinets, Cutr will specify a metal rail system per 600mm cabinet.
  • For wall panelling, Cutr assumes that panels can be glued directly to the wall.
  • Doors or panels above 2200mm length require structural support (e.g. metal profiles) to prevent bending over time.
  • Parts that require bending will be manufactured using two layers of 8mm thick bendable plywood, with supporting brackets behind the bend.

Materials

  • Cutr will clearly show the material used to quote and produce, and will not deviate from this unless otherwise approved.
  • Where designs deviate from standard material thicknesses, Cutr will select the closest available thickness first and otherwise layer sheet materials to come as close as possible to the desired thickness.
  • Cutr assumes a seam is approved and that the manufacturer can define the seam location for any parts that are larger than the selected sheet size. Seam positions will always be clearly indicated on the production drawings for customer review.

Default Material Selections
  • Where customer has not selected a specific material, we assume:
    • Unilin chipboard 18mm 00025 CST Front White - for cabinet corpus and doors
    • Unilin chipboard 10mm 00025 CST Front White - for cabinet backing
    • If solid wood has been requested without a specific wood type, we will select: European Oak, Rustic graded and kiln-dried for interior use.
    • If veneer has been requested without a wood type, Cutr will select 2z oak veneered MDF.
  • Solid wood will have little knots (less than 3cm) or dents. The knots will not be filled by default.
  • Cutr assumes a moisture resistant core for bathroom or kitchen cabinetry.
  • Parts that need to be painted are, by default, MDF with a paint carrier film if the available sheet thickness allows. Otherwise, MDF with primer will be selected.

Edgebanding
  • For orders where assembly is not requested, Cutr assumes all edges will be edgebanded unless otherwise corrected and clearly indicated.
  • For assembled orders using melamine, HPL or veneer, Cutr assumes all visible edges (including visible edges to inner cut outs and edges touching the ground) will be edgebanded.
  • Cutr assumes a matching edgeband colour and glue with the melamine/HPL/veneer unless otherwise specified.
  • ABS edgebanding is always 1mm, unless otherwise specified.
  • Veneer edgebanding is always 0.8mm unless otherwise specified.

Grain Direction
  • Grain direction is always assumed to run along the longest measurement of the part.
  • Cutr will assume continuous slats for any solid wood sheets.

Hardware & Appliances
  • Cutr will default to Blum or Hafele for all hardware unless requested otherwise.
  • Cutr will use standard hardware items and systems, unless specified otherwise. These are itemised on quotation for reference.
    • Blum Clip Top Blumotion 110° softclose hinge
    • Blum Legrabox Drawer systems in white
    • Hafele clothes rod OVA 30 x 15 mm with matching hanging system in steel
    • LED strip light (2700k) with diffuser profile and 24V power supply, wiring and switch
    • Hafele Axilo adjustable feet 100mm
  • When no assembly method is specified by the customer, the manufacturer will choose the connector type.
  • Cutr will assume a push to open system for doors or drawers (and no handles) unless otherwise specified.
  • Cutr will specify 4mm tempered glass with flat polished edges for all mirror requests.

Upholstery
  • Cutr assumes single seams
  • Seating foam: SG40 - 50mm thick
  • Backrest foam: SG35 - 30mm thick
  • Headboard flat: foam SG25 - 20mm thick
  • Headboard 3D/textured: foam SG25 - 60mm thick
  • Fabric price: €30 per meter with a roll width of 1300mm

Finishes

  • Cutr assumes for parts that require finishing, finish will be applied to all sides consistently.
  • Where finishing is requested, Cutr assumes the parts will be prepared (sanded and primed) as necessary for the selected finish.
    • P220 - standard sanded finish
    • P150 - oil (monocoat)
  • Cutr assumes varnish will have a matte finish.
  • Cutr assumes (spray)paint work will have a mat finish.
  • Cutr assumes the following finishing is always required:
    • Solid wood: oil (Rubio monocoat)
    • Veneer: varnish (two layers)
    • Melamine / HPL / composite material: none
  • Where sanding and finishing is not requested, Cutr will break edges once with a sanding block to remove sharp edge.‍‍

Production Drawing Approval

  • The manufacturer will produce based on approved production drawings. These drawings will be available on the Cutr platform for comment. Drawings will adhere to Cutr guidelines as outlined here. The approval of these drawings is considered final.
  • Drawing feedback from customer must be shared in writing (annotations on platform) to avoid misunderstandings.
  • Once drawings are approved, any further changes may affect price and lead time.

Scope Changes

  • Any adjustments to order scope after drawings approval, including but not limited to design, finish, or material changes, may affect price and/or leadtime.
  • Changes are only valid once confirmed in writing and reflected in an updated quote/offer or change confirmation.

Samples

Product Samples
  • Where Cutr is producing the same part more than 50 times, a sample will be produced and approved by Customer before producing the full run. This is expected to extend the lead time by at least 2 weeks; the exact impact will be confirmed per project.
  • Where Cutr is producing the same assembled product more than 10 times, a sample will be produced. This is expected to extend the lead time by at least 3 weeks; the exact impact will be confirmed per project.

Finish Samples
  • If a finish or material match is required (e.g. spraypaint tone, veneer look), a sample approval step applies (extra costs will be charged to customer).
  • Continued production and confirmation of order timeline is dependent on approval of the (finish) samples.

Flatpack Cabinetry Delivery

  • For orders where assembly is not requested, but an assembly file has been provided, Cutr will price in a test assembly of parts to ensure parts fit together as intended.
  • For orders where assembly is not requested, assembly hardware will be delivered with the order.
  • For flatpack orders where Cutr provides engineering support, Cutr includes a test assembly in the quotation, which must be completed and documented before delivery.

Assembled Delivery

  • The manufacturer will elect the assembly methodology and connectors, unless explicitly specified otherwise.
  • All internal hardware (e.g. drawers, medicine racks) should be delivered assembled
  • Skirting will always be delivered in overlength and is expected to be installed on site by the customer. Connectors for the skirting will be delivered by the manufacturer so the customer is able to connect it on site.

Test Set-Up
  • For components that require on-site assembly (e.g. sliding doors), the manufacturer will perform a test assembly to verify fit and functionality where possible. These components will be delivered disassembled for on-site installation.
  • For orders where parts are being finished (e.g. spraypainting), test assembly prior to painting is recommended to ensure proper fitting later on.

Installation

  • Cutr assumes all installations will be on the ground floor. If this is not the case, additional costs will be charged.
  • Installations include a measure-up. Site investigations undertaken during an on-site measure up may result in cost adjustments dependent on site accessibility, site conditions and preparedness.
  • Cutr will not supply plumbing or electricity services by default. Third party services can be requested at an additional cost.
  • Cutr will not undertake work required of a certified electrician by default. Third party services can be requested at an additional cost.
  • Cutr will caulk wet areas only, where cabinetry meets the wall, and default to transparent unless otherwise specified.
  • Cutr assumes that walls are flat, true and prepared in advance for any on site installation work.
  • Tiling is excluded from Cutr’s scope unless it is explicitly stated in writing that tiling must be included and quoted.

Site Access & Readiness
  • Installation planning and timeline depend on the site being ready.
  • “Site ready” means installation zones have finished floors/walls/ceilings, clear access, and no blocking works by other parties that prevent installation.
  • Any agreed delivery/installation dates are conditional on required third parties and site readiness being in place (e.g., painter completion, access granted by the main contractor). If these conditions aren’t met, dates may need to be rescheduled and extra costs may occur.
  • The customer will provide site access for (a) the initial measure-up and any requested check-measurements, and (b) the agreed installation date plus 5 working days afterwards for unforeseen adjustments. If access is not available as agreed, waiting time, rescheduling, or additional visits may be required and can be chargeable when not caused by Cutr/Manufacturer.
  • Cutr assumes access to free parking on location during the installation period. If that is not possible, parking will be billed to the customer.

Packaging & Delivery

  • Unless specially requested, packaging for orders will default to Cutr’s Packaging Guidelines found here.
  • Cutr assumes delivery to a location on the ground floor, where there is clear unloading accessibility and the necessary equipment to accept delivery where we are delivering on pallets.
  • Cutr assumes the customer will be present at moment of delivery to collect the goods. If not present, extra delivery costs may apply.
  • Delivery costs do not include any additional city taxes required for specific delivery areas. If additional costs apply, these will be charged to the customer.
  • Cutr assumes any non-standard delivery requirements will be shared by the customer prior to production. Any changes to delivery requirements could incur additional costs.

Issue Reporting

  • The goods should be inspected in their entirety by the customer and any issues should be reported within 14 days of delivery.
  • When installation happens while other parties are still working on site, installation photos may be taken at handover to document condition.
  • In active construction sites (multiple parties working post-install), damages/issues should be reported immediately.
