From experiment to long-term partnership: Interieur Bouwens & Cutr

Meet Interieur Bouwens

Interieur Bouwens is a family business with a unique story. In 1994, Mr. Bouwens started producing webbing. At the time, the only one in the Netherlands doing so. After fifteen years, he transitioned into interior construction, investing in machinery and gradually building a new direction for the company.

In 2009, son Bennie Bouwens joined the company. He originally worked as a physical education teacher but was looking for a new challenge, which led him to change course and start supporting his father. In 2015, daughter Martina Bouwens followed.

‍

Today, the company has a team of 10 people and combines craftsmanship with a down-to-earth, personal approach. With a strong focus on quality and collaboration, Interieur Bouwens delivers complete, high-end custom interiors for restaurants, homes, and schools, from kitchens to wardrobes.

The experience with Cutr

‍

Interior construction is notoriously unpredictable, something Martina and many others in the industry know all too well. Schedules shift constantly, and it’s difficult to keep both machines and staff fully utilized. Martina and Bennie saw an opportunity: gain more control over the workflow and improve the efficiency of their CNC machine usage.

‍

Through word of mouth, she heard about a platform for CNC work. "I had heard the name Cutr before, so I Googled it," Martina recalls. They signed up with a mindset of: let’s see where this goes.

‍

The first contact with Cutr followed quickly. Everything was explained clearly, and within two weeks, the first orders came in. They started small, with a few simple projects to test the platform. Then came the full fit-out request for Chun. “It was exactly our specialty, so we accepted it right away.” Since then, they have created beautiful interiors for Cutr customers, including the castle. That has to be every little girl's dream bedroom!

Making it happen

When the Chun project came in, Martina’s brother Ben was immediately excited. “I’m just going to accept this one,” he said without hesitation. Martina, handling the finances, had to pause for a moment: “I thought, wow, hold on!”

‍

But this was exactly the kind of work Interieur Bouwens thrives on. Chun was a complex and detailed project, featuring luxury materials and a high level of finish. “These are the types of projects that energize Ben,” says Martina.

‍

The team loves working with intricate details in their Cutr projects: stone block elements, rounded cushions, veneered finishes, and premium materials. All have been projects where craftsmanship and aesthetics meet, resulting in a highly satisfying experience.

The future

‍

The collaboration went smoothly and clearly sparked excitement for more. The level of trust was so strong that Interieur Bouwens was asked to build Chun’s next restaurant as well, which will have a completely different look and feel. You can see more photos of Chun here.

What began as an experiment to make better use of machinery turned into an efficient and rewarding partnership. Several other beautiful projects have since emerged from this collaboration, with even more in the pipeline.

The success of these beautiful projects laid the foundation for a long-term relationship between Interieur Bouwens and Cutr. One built on quality, trust, and shared growth.
