In 1999 ben ik, Eric Kuiper, begonnen als zzp'er met Klusbedrijf Eric Kuiper, beter bekend als KEK. Ik begon met het uitvoeren van timmerwerken in opdracht van andere interieurbouwbedrijven, maar al snel wilde ik meer. Dankzij het vertrouwen van verschillende klanten kon ik personeel aannemen en groeide het bedrijf. Enkele van deze trouwe werknemers werken nog steeds bij ons. Mijn oudste zoon kwam al snel bij het bedrijf en niet veel later volgde mijn jongste zoon. Ze zijn inmiddels uitgegroeid tot waardevolle medewerkers binnen het bedrijf. Rick houdt zich voornamelijk bezig met sales en marketing, Kevin is hoofd projectleiding en mijn vrouw is verantwoordelijk voor het personeelsbeleid. KEK is een echt familiebedrijf. We beschouwen iedereen binnen het bedrijf als familie en voelen ons sterk betrokken bij ons personeel. Zonder hen hadden we nooit zoveel bereikt. Dat besef ik elke dag en mag best eens gezegd worden! Als echte bourgondiër ben ik trots dat we sinds 2018 eigenaar zijn van een prachtig pand in mijn stad, Den Bosch. Met 7200 vierkante meter productieruimte, waarvan 500 vierkante meter showroom en 1500 vierkante meter kantoor, hopen we onze klanten nog beter van dienst te kunnen zijn. Bij ons krijgt elke klant de volle aandacht en we zijn pas tevreden als onze klant gelukkig is met het eindresultaat! Mijn naam is Leander Huizer en op 23-jarige leeftijd heb ik mijn eigen bedrijf opgericht. Dit was in 2015, toen ik nog op het vmbo zat. Inmiddels volg ik de opleiding tot meubelmaker niveau 3 aan het Hout en Meubilerings College in Rotterdam. Ik heb deze opleiding met succes afgerond! Sinds maart 2023 is Huizerhout ook officieel ingeschreven bij de Kamer van Koophandel. In het begin richtte ik me voornamelijk op het werken met pallethout (huizerspallethout.nl). Echter, naarmate ik meer opdrachten kreeg en geen pallethout meer gebruikte, besloot ik om een bedrijfsnaamswijziging door te voeren. Mijn allereerste opdracht was het maken van een kinderkeukentje voor mijn nichtje. Vanuit die opdracht ben ik verder gegroeid en heb ik mijn eigen werkplaats en machines kunnen aanschaffen. Ik werk met verschillende soorten hout, zoals eiken, vuren, hardhout en douglashout. De meubels die ik maak variëren enorm, van kinderwerkbankjes tot complete terrassen inclusief vlonders, veranda's en loungesets. Daarnaast maak ik tegenwoordig ook keukens, badkamermeubels en interieurs. Tijdens mijn opleiding en stages heb ik geleerd om te werken met allerlei houtbewerkingsmachines, van handgereedschap tot CNC-besturing. Hierdoor heb ik ook een aantal meubels kunnen maken. Mijn afstudeerproject was een rond meubel met een bol erbovenop. Dit meubel is volledig rond en ik ben er ontzettend trots op!
