Meet ANN Interiors

ANN Interiors is a one-woman interior design studio based in Amsterdam, founded by Anneloes van den Heuvel. With more than 16 years of experience in design and execution, Anneloes works across residential homes, offices, and healthcare spaces.

Her approach is deliberately practical: not styling after the fact, but making the right decisions before the renovation begins. She delivers mood boards, 2D drawings, AI visuals, and detailed plans for layout, materials, light, and electrics, then translates all of it into clear briefs that builders can actually work from.

Depending on the project, Anneloes also takes on coordination between her designs and the builders who execute them. It is a broad remit for one person. And for years, finding reliable production partners was the part that ate into her time the most.

The problem

Finding a good builder in the Netherlands is not straightforward. The ones Anneloes trusts are busy, often booked out eight to twelve months in advance. Getting a quote from them could take six weeks, if she got one at all.

"Builders have no time. Asking for a response in one or two weeks is sometimes impossible because they are too busy."

"Residential projects want to start in four months, and I get responses like, 'Yeah, we have time in eight or twelve months.'"

And when she did hear back, the numbers were rarely firm.

"You get an email with indication prices, the kitchen will be between thirty and forty-five, a big range. Preparing an offer takes a lot of time."

Beyond the quoting, the process itself was manual and relentless. She describes it clearly:

"I go to builders, I ask, 'Do you have time? These are the requirements. How far are you with the offer? How far are you with your planning? Do you have time in three months?' That all takes a lot of time."

And because she works alone, every hour spent chasing builders was an hour not spent on design.

"I don't have any employees who can take that work for me."

The moment Cutr came in

In the summer, one of Anneloes' builders walked off a project. She needed to find someone fast, but it was summertime and no one was available. That was when Deniz from Cutr reached out.

The project: Vondelstraat, Amsterdam

The Vondelstraat project was a residential apartment fit-out in Amsterdam. A previous builder had stepped away mid-project. Anneloes needed someone to pick up where things had stopped: a kitchen, a balcony, and several finishing details.

She uploaded a 2D PDF to the Cutr platform and the process began. A quote came back. The client approved it. Cutr arranged a site meeting with the builder to walk through the project on location.

"We scheduled a meeting with the interior builder himself, to meet each other, to look in the face, and to discuss the whole project on location."

From there, the builder sent production drawings for approval. There was some back and forth on design details. The project was delivered on time. What made the difference for Anneloes was not just the outcome. It was having someone alongside her throughout.

The result

The project was completed on time. For a solo designer managing production remotely, that is not a given.
